nightdrive plugins install keyd

The text keys your fingers know from macOS, in every app, and Finder's keys in Files.

KeysWhat they do
⌥⌫Deletes the word before the cursor
⌘⌫Deletes to the start of the line; in Files, moves to the trash; in Thunderbird, deletes the message
⌘,Opens the app's settings (Ctrl+,), not in the terminal; 1Password's Settings window comes up even when it is already open
Enter in FilesRenames the selected file, as in Finder (F2 too)
⌘O in FilesOpens the selected file

keyd turns the text keys into real key presses before they reach the desktop, so they work the same everywhere and never get stuck repeating. They take effect from the next login, the Files keys when Files next starts.

If the keyboard ever stops working, press Backspace, Escape and Enter together: that stops keyd.
